| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
Then Jesus
made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught
in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and
healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised
and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds,
his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were,
like sheep with no shepherd. (Matthew 6:35-36)
When Jesus got the news, he slipped away by boat to
an out-of-the-way place by himself. But unsuccessfully—someone
saw him and the word got around. Soon a lot of people
from the nearby villages walked around the lake to
where he was. When he saw them coming, he was overcome
with pity and healed their sick. (Matthew 14:14)
But Jesus wasn't finished with them. He called his
disciples and said, "I hurt for these people.
For three days now they've been with me, and now they
have nothing to eat. I can't send them away without
a meal—they'd probably collapse on the road." (Matthew 15:32)
Jesus stopped and called over, "What do you want
from me?" They said, "Master, we want our
eyes opened. We want to see!" Deeply moved, Jesus
touched their eyes. They had their sight back that
very instant, and joined the procession. (Matthew 20:34)
What is your attitude towards those
who do not have a personal relationship with God; those
who don’t attend church? How about those who smoke,
drink, fight, or go to bars? Or those who hop into bed
with a different person every night? The workaholic who
is rarely home with their family? The poor, out of work,
or homeless - what do you feel about them?
Jesus came to be an example of how God wants us to live.
He said we were to go and do the same things He did.
He wants us to view those who don’t know Him the
same way He does. Do you? Are you deeply moved by the
people and their need for a personal relationship with
God or are you put off by their acts of dealing with
there pain and loss, their trying to fill the hole in
their
life with things other than God?
Today examine your heart. Better yet, ask God to examine
your heart to see if you hurt for these people, to see
if you’re deeply moved or if you have pity on them
to the point that you are willing to help. That is the
example Jesus set for us. That is how He wants all of
us who know Him to relate to those who so desperately
need a personal relationship with Him.
