| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
So now there is no condemnation for those
who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving
Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power
of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses could not
save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into
effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son
in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful.
God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son
as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the
requirement of the law would be fully accomplished for
us who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead
follow the Spirit.
(Romans 8:1- 4)
Ever notice that before you entered
into a personal relationship with Jesus you never gave
much thought to the wrong things, the selfish things
you did? It seemed perfectly natural to always think
of your needs first, that’s just the way it was,
and no matter how hard you tried, if you even thought
of trying at all, you couldn’t stop thinking and
doing for yourself first. That is the essence of sin:
putting your needs, wants, and desires before all others,
including God. You were god of your life.
Ever notice that after you entered into a personal relationship
with God you still make selfish choices? However, have you also
noticed that there is a new desire to do things for others and
that there are times you are able to choose to put others needs
before your own? That is the change that was made; you now have
a choice, the ability to choose to do right, to place God and
others needs, wants and desires before your own. That does not
mean you will always do it, but before you had no choice, and
now you do. By the power of the Holy Spirit and the work Christ
accomplished on the cross you are free from the grip of sin;
free to choose between right and wrong.
So go out there today and exercise that choice that has been
given you. Choose to do right!
