| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
Even though
on the outside it often looks like things are falling
apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new
life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the
coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared
for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The
things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But
the things we can't see now will last forever.
(2 Corinthians
4:16-18 - the Message)
God, among His other promises, promised
that we would have trials and tribulations. Our life
here, after the fall, will never be easy, but our life
is more than what we can see, taste, hear, or smell
today. We are not only physical, mental, and emotional
creatures, we are also spiritual ones. And the spiritual
part of our makeup is really the most important, pertinent
part of what we are. It is the part that will last forever.
Paul can look upon his difficulties as “small
potatoes” not because his problems were small,
but because he understood that this life is short like
a mist. The spiritual life will last forever - forever
in the presence of the One who has focused His attention
and love on us. Yes, there is much more going on each
day than we see and we need to ask God to help us see
what is happening in the spiritual realm. We do this
not only to stop feeling sorry for ourselves about the
problems we have here, but so we can get our attention
focused on the battle. It's an ongoing one in the spiritual
world. We can do what we were meant to; join in the
battle and fight for the souls of those around us and
of those we love.
What we see now will pass; what we cannot see now will
last forever. Let’s “re-focus” our
attention.
