LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,

My grace is enough; it's all you need.
My strength comes into its own in your weakness.

Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:7-9, the Message)

Does God allow things in our lives that we think are holding us back, our "handicaps"? Does God allow Satan to mess with us and try to get us down? Does God answer no to prayer? (I believe that God always answers prayer, just sometimes it's no and we don't want to hear that.)

We forget that God is most interested in our spiritual development and growth, not our comfort and ease of life here. He will do and allow what He needs to keep us dependent on Him. (Not that in reality we are not always and totally dependent on God but we have a way, when we are doing well, to want to take the credit; become "self" dependent.) He wants and needs us to continually becoming more like Christ and anything that would get in the way He will address as we see in Paul's case.

So not everything is as it seems. There may be things in your life that you feel are holding you back, preventing you from being what you want to be. A " handicap" but maybe, just maybe, God allows those things to keep you humble and usable. So do as Paul did: pray, and if God does not remove them then look at them as a blessing, a gift and not a handicap preventing you from become "self" proud and unusable for God.

Live it Fierce
