| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
We know very
well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping
but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. How
do we know? We tried it—and we had the best system
of rules the world has ever seen! Convinced that no
human being can please God by self-improvement, we
believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be
set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not
by trying to be good.
(Galatians 2:16, the Message)
How are you living today? Are you
living by rules, dos and don’ts, which the church
or some other institution has made, in an effort to
make Christianity “easy” (making a formula
out of it instead of a relationship)? God had given
the Jews the best set of rules the world, at that time,
had ever seen and no matter how hard they tried to “be” better
they always fell short. The same goes for today. You
cannot self-improve yourself into God’s favor.
No amount of trying, readying, following formulas; no
amount of living the “dutiful” life will
impress God. What will impress God? Live your life out
of love and passion for Him.
A life of faith is a life of love and passion for Christ.
When you love someone you don’t have to think
about following rules; what I can do, what can’t
I do (for myself). No! Your only thought is what I can
do to please my love. How can I show them today that
I love them? Your servant hood comes not out of duty
and obligation, but as a response of your love and passion
for your love. When you base your actions - when your
motive for your actions is founded in your love and
passion for your love - you don’t have to worry
about the dos and don’ts because you would never
dream of doing anything to hurt your love. There is
great freedom in living to please the one who loves
you the way God loves you.
The next time you find you made a selfish choice (sin)
and in need of forgiveness pray for more than forgiveness,
pray that you will fall more in love with God, that
your passion for Him, your desire for Him, would grow
and that your intimacy with and your trust in Him would
grow. We need more than forgiveness if we are going
to live right and be the people God created us to be.
We must get closer to Him and live our lives out of
our passion for God - not out of duty.
Live it Fierce
