| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
What actually
took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working
my head off to please God and it didn't work. So I
quit being a "law man" so that I could be
God's man. Christ's life showed me how, and enabled
me to do it. I identified myself completely with him.
Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is
no longer central. It is no longer important that I
appear righteous before you or have your good opinion,
and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives
in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but
it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave himself for me.
(Galatians 2:19-20, the Message)
Who are you trying to impress, God?
What man or woman are you trying to make points with?
What group are you trying to get “in” with?
Who are you trying to make believe that you are something
you are not? Does it, in the big picture, really matter
what others think? What is most important to you? What
do you want? Do you want the approval of others and
how they think about you? What's more important: how
they see you, or living the way God created you to live
and doing what you were designed to do? Does your ego
get in the way?
You may be thinking, “I can’t do that, I’m
not perfect”. Paul wasn’t perfect either.
He was just a person, no different than you or I. The
only thing Paul had going for himself was his willingness
to put God’s will and the needs of others above
his own. That does not take any special talent or gift;
it just requires making a choice to live for God or
to live for self.
God is not as interested in the ability of a person
as He is in the availability of a person. What matters
is your willingness to commit your life to living for
God, not giving a hoot what others may think about you
because He has already giving you all the power you
need to live the way He wants you to live. You just
have to use it. No, Paul had nothing over you; he was
just a person who understood who God was, who Paul was,
what their relationship was, and that was all that mattered.
So what are you going to do? Who are you going to live
for?
