| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH
DAILY INSPIRATION |
In Christ's
family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew,
slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all
equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship
with Jesus Christ. (Galatians 3:28, the Message)
Why do we insist on elevating other
people around us to higher levels, making them in our
minds more important than someone else in the church?
Why do we seem to think that a Jew who has become a
believer in Christ is some how more blessed or special
than a non-Jew who becomes a believer? Why do we try
to insinuate that men are better leaders than women?
Are we not all equal in our relationship with Christ?
Yes the church does have pastors, elders, teachers,
and other “leaders”, but they are gifts
from God to the church (body of believers) for preparing
us to help others in the world see the love of God.
They help to point them to and show them God’s
desire to have an intimate personal relationship with
them. These “leaders” were never meant to
be exalted above the rest of us and thought of better
than ourselves.
We are all equal in Jesus. He loves us all with the
same love and does not regard one better than another
and neither should we. Don’t put yourself down
by raising others up and if you are a “leader” don’t
think of yourself as better than others because of your
calling. These things don’t matter and have nothing
to do with our work to bring others into relationship
with Christ.
