| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
...we will
not compare ourselves with each other as if one of
us were better and another worse. We have far more
interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us
is an original. (Galatians 5:26, the Message)
How many time have you found yourself
justifying your actions, usually poor or inappropriate
ones, by saying, "Well at least I'm not as bad
as, or at least I didn’t do...”?
The fact that we have entered into a personal relationship
with God should have some major impact on how we live
our lives. God has so much for us to do, so many places
to go, people to talk to, to help, to laugh with, to
cry with and to be a friend to. We don’t have
time to try and justify our sin and shortcomings by
comparing ourselves to others. There will always be
someone better than you and someone that you are better
than, but God is not interested in that. He is most
interested in you becoming who He created you to be.
You are an original.
So stop comparing yourself to others and just start
living from your heart for God. And if you are not sure
how to do that then just spend time with Him getting
to His heart - His heart towards you and His heart towards
others in the world. Ask God to reveal to you the heart's
desire He has placed in you.
Comparing ourselves to others is selfish and a waste
of time. It's anti-relationship and boring. There are
far more interesting things to do with our lives. We
can be the person God created us to be: loving Him,
and helping others discover who they are and who God
created them to be.
Life with God is an adventure, a great adventure; let’s
not waste time on petty selfish comparisons.
