| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
Live creatively,
friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore
him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You
might be needing forgiveness before the day's out.
Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed.
Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law.
If you think you are too good for that, you are badly
deceived. (Galatians 6:1-3, the Message)
I have heard it said, by those observing
the behavior of the believers, that the Christian army
is the only army in the world that shoots its own wounded.
When someone does something they should not do (keep
in mind that sin is more than doing wrong it also includes
not doing the right thing when we know what the right
thing is) the historical action or re-action of the
believers is judge them and ostracize them. We typically
condemn them for their actions rather then treating
them the way Christ treats us (which by the way is the
way we want Christ to treat us). We should look past
their faults and see the person inside; the person that
He created, that He died for, the person crying out
for help. He looks at them through the eyes of one who
passionately loves us. If we are going to be critical
of anyone (I am not sure that it benefits anyone, even
ourselves, to be critical in the negative sense) it
should be ourselves, not those who are under attack
by the enemy and struggling.
We are to share, lift up, come along side those who
are struggling and share their burden. This passage
goes to the heart of the matter - our hearts. Are we
living our lives and our relationship, both with God
and those around us, from our hearts, from passion based
in love, or are we living based on what we can get out
of it, how many points can we score, looking better
than the other guy? Are we living as though we were
in competition with each other; living under the law?
No, we are not too good to reach out to those struggling
around us. No, we are in no position to be their judge.
There is no one beneath us; there is not one who is
not worthy of our attention. Love and help others no
matter what they have done. After all Christ died for
them, too and if they are good enough for Christ than
they sure had better be good enough for us.
Live from love.
Live it with Passion
