| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
We ask you--urge
is more like it—that you keep on doing what we told
you to do to please God, not in a dogged religious
plod, but in a living, spirited dance. (1 Thessalonians
4:1, the Message)
How is your relationship with God?
Is it a “dogged religious plod”, your duty,
the things you must do, your ticket into heaven, your
escape from Hell? Are your motivations for being a Christian
based on what you can get out of it and what God can
do for you? Are you trying to live right so God will
give you a “blessed” life? Or is your relationship
with God a “living, spirited dance”, an
intertwining of your soul and God’s, full of life
and unhindered by man’s conventions and ideas?
Is it totally based on a God who loves you and who desires
and longs for your love?
God never intended that our relationship with Him be
caught up in rote practices designed to keep us in line
and make us appear to be holy. He created us for an
intimate personal relationship with Him. This is why
He came to earth and died on the cross, that we might
be set free from meaningless rote religious practices,
traditions, rules and regulations. Live with Him in
a loving, spirited dance. The last thing God wants is
a group of people going through life practicing a bunch
of man-made rituals in an effort to impress Him.
Living, spirited dance - what image comes to mind when
you think of these words? Does that image bring to mind
your typical church service or Bible study? Does it
describe you relationship with God? Or does it conjure
up something free, uninhibited, exciting, full of life
and adventure? Do not be bound by man's conventions,
rules and regulations. Have a free, open response to
the one who loves you and who has pursued you from the
beginning of time. That is what you were created for,
that is what Jesus died on the cross for, that you would
live with Him in a living, spirited dance.
Don’t miss the dance!
Live it with Passion
