| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
If you grasp
and cling to life on your terms, you'll lose it, but
if you let that life go, you'll get life on God's terms.
(Luke 17:33, the Message)
Yesterday I spoke of giving place
to our sorrow, our grieving; grieving the losses in
our lives, the losses of our hopes and dreams and the
way we hoped life would be. Some might ask, I thought
Jesus was going to take away our sorrow, I thought being
a Christian meant we would be happy? That is true but
there are two things that must happen for that to take
place. We must face the losses and admit that they did/do
matter to us, that they hurt and we must freely give
them to Jesus.
Jesus will heal your heart, but for Him to do that you
must let go of the hurt, the pain and the loss of your
dreams. You do that by facing them and admitting that
they do/did matter. Grieve them, mourn them through
prayer, and as you do Jesus will heal your heart. There
is nothing too big or too small to grieve. If it mattered
to you and it was lost and that loss hurts it matters
to Jesus. If we don’t face our hurts and losses,
if we don’t grieve them, then we will harden our
hearts. We numb them for that is the only way we can
make it through life, but a numb heart, while it may
not feel the hurt, cannot fully feel joy.
God wants all of you not just what you think is good;
not just what makes you happy; He wants your sorrow
as well. To hold back that which causes you pain is
to hold out on God, to hold back part of your life.
He wants to be Lord of all of your life and that includes
your hurts and sorrows. As you grieve your losses and
release them to God He is then able to heal your broken
heart and set it free.
What are your hurts; what are your losses? Take them
to Him; let Him fulfill His promise to heal the broken-hearted.
Live it with Passion
