LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
...God does not respond to what we do; we respond to what God does. We've finally figured it out. Our lives get in step with God and all others by letting him set the pace, not by proudly or anxiously trying to run the parade. (Romans 3:27-28, the Message)

Our culture is so used to setting the agenda, being in control, coming up with the ideas and getting others to follow in hopes that somehow through this we will feel and seem important. So is it any wonder that we have such a hard time in our relationship with God? We are instructed from birth on to be in control, not to let someone else determine our life for us, and then we meet God. We are overjoyed at first and why not -- we have just had the penalty of our sins taken away. We are going to live with God forever in Heaven, or for many of us the main point is we are not going to Hell. So we want to do something for God out of our excitement. What a shock it is to realize God does not want us doing something for Him; He wants us to do something with Him, with Him in control, with him setting the agenda.

Jesus said many times I do nothing of my own accord, but I see what the Father is doing and I do the same. If Jesus is the example for us on how we are to live our lives, shouldn’t we be looking to what “The Father” is doing in our world and join in rather than trying to figure out from our own abilities how we can do something for God? The latter will most likely burn you out. It is life draining, while joining the work God is already doing is fulfilling and life giving. True, God will get the accolades, you won’t, but who are you trying to impress anyway?

Tired of being tired? Tired of feeling like everything in life, including serving God, is a major chore? Then stop trying to run the show, stop trying to compete with God for the attention (you’ll always lose that one anyway) and join His work, His story and become a part of what He is doing in the world you live in. Get in step with God and stop anxiously trying to run the parade.

Live it with Passion
