| LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
Do you think anyone is going to be able
to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us?
There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred,
not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not
backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We're
sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this
fazes us because Jesus loves us. I'm absolutely convinced
that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic,
today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely
nothing can get between us and God's love because of
the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
(Romans 8:35 – 39, the Message)
Nothing can separate us from God! If this is true then
how come we all know of people who have lost faith, lost
heart and walked away from God?
Paul is right. There is nothing of its own power that
can separate us from God but that which we give the power
to do it. Look at that list; does that sound like a utopian
life list of events? Paul didn’t list any struggle,
trial, temptation, or hardship that we will face that
against our will and desire can pull us away from God.
So why do people turn from God and back to their other
little gods? It is a lack of trust in the ultimate goodness
of God’s heart and the desire to control their
own lives, thinking that they know best/better than God
on how their life should go. If we truly know God, not
just about Him but intimately know His heart, then Romans
8:35-39 will be absolutely true in our lives, because
we will know and understand that His intention towards
us is ultimately for good and our best. We know that
even if the calamity should cost our life or the life
of a loved one it will not take us from God but take
us to Him.
The other reason people turn away from God is their focus
is on this temporal life not the eternal life that they
began when they became a believer and follower of Christ.
They are so caught up in what they see with their physical
eyes, with what this life has to offer here and now,
that they cannot see what God has for them eternally.
They miss the big picture; they can’t see the forest
because of the trees. They get caught up in the trappings
of the things the world has to offer and when those things
start to fade or are lost they lose heart, blame God
for not loving them or blame themselves for not having
enough faith and therefore being a bad Christian. And
they walk away.
So where are you today? How is your heart knowledge
of God? Where is your focus? What is at the center of your vision? So
what are we to do? Get alone with God as Jesus did. He did not spend every
waking moment with others, serving and healing them. He spent many hours
alone with God, loving Him and being loved by Him. He spent this time
getting to know His heart and being refreshed in His spirit by spending
intimate time alone with His father. Jesus is our example of not only
how to love others but how to love and live in an intimate relationship
with God. Make time soon to get alone with God away from life’s
distractions, clear your mind, love Him and let Him love and adore you.
Get to know His heart.
