LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
You're going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you're doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive...
(2 Timothy 4:3-5, the Message)

How many of us do that, accept the hard times with the good? We all want and like the good times, those are the times we feel “blessed” and validated about how we are living our lives and when the hard times come we ask, “What did I do wrong, what did I do to deserve this”?

There are lots of people out there that are more than happy to tell you that it is your lack of faith that you don’t have what you want (ever heard of “name-it-and-claim-it?) Or that you don’t have a problem-free life or there are still others who will tell you it is because of some sin you committed that you are now facing hard times. The truth is neither. In the book of Job we learn two very important things at the end: One, God does allow things to happen, not as retribution, but that He may be glorified. Remember when Jesus was asked who sinned, this man or His parents, that He was now crippled? Jesus’ answer was that it was neither. He was allowed to be this way so God could be glorified and Jesus healed him. Two, the concept, idea, or teaching that if you are good and do what God wants you to do you will be blessed and if you don’t you will be cursed is a lie. If you don’t believe me, go read Job 42:7 — "After the LORD had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, 'I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has'." That idea was the teaching of Job’s "friends" and God said they were WRONG!

We have bad times because we live in a fallen world, a world at war, and if we are truly engaged in what we are to be doing we will be opposed. We have an enemy who stops at nothing to get us to lay down our arms. Keep to good simple teaching; understand your role in this story, this adventure. Understand that is full of danger and joy. Understand that in the end all will be made right, and keep the simple massage alive that God loves us, rescued us, and desires an intimate loving personal relationship with us.

Live it with Passion
