LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
The whole point of what we're urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven't the remotest idea of what they're holding forth with such imposing eloquence. (1Timothy 1:5-7 — The Message)

To know God or know about God—there are many who know a lot about God and the Bible. They have spent years reading and studying the Bible, the history of that time and that part of the world, studying the languages of the time and the meaning of the words and their proper translations and yet with all of the knowledge they know little of God’s heart. They know all about Him, but do not know Him. They have neglected the heart in favor of knowledge.

God is all about heart. The reason for the Bible is to reveal His heart to us. The reason He came to live on the earth was to reveal His heart to us and to show us His love and how to live. Yes it is important that we read His love letters to us and yes it is important that we understand the context of the times in which each of the books of the Bible were written. We need to have proper and accurate translations, but we also need to understand God’s heart. Knowing Him personally and intimately must come first and always remain first. Without love the rest is just meaningless hyperbole.

Read and study your Bible, but do so under the direction of God. Through the Holy Spirit, keep your heart connected with God’s. Keep your intimate and personal relationship first.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold
