LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. (Romans 12:9 — The Message)

Love from the center of who you are. What is that center? It is your heart. Love from your heart; don’t fake it. Don’t show interest in someone for what you can get out of them, but show genuine interest in them just because they live. Show interest for how you might be able to help them become who they believe God created them to be. That is loving from your heart. It is expressed in Philippians 2 as thinking more about the needs of others and putting those needs above your own. In other words help others reach their goals and dreams first; that is loving from your heart.

Now I know this is difficult because we live in a “me” first culture. It seems everyone is reaching out and getting all they can. However, we were all created for love and intimacy, first with God and then with others. We were created in His image, an image and heart that put the needs of others above His own needs. That is what Jesus did when He came to earth and lived and died for us. That is our heritage; that is the DNA from which we all are made. Anything else is less than what and who we were created to be. That is why we are instructed to live like Jesus did. It is not so we can fail and see how bad we are and how good Jesus is. God asks us to live life like Jesus did because He knows we can. He knows what we are made of; He created us. The only one who believes that we can’t is us, but if we think that we are deceived.

When you find yourself saying I just can’t love that person, or I am not a person who can be intimate or close with others, you are only deceiving yourself. You are cheating yourself out of your heritage and the life for which you were created. You are denying the truth about how God made you, in His loving image.

You have what it takes to live and love like Jesus. You have what it takes to love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold
