| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
The Spirit
makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going
to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions
put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied
so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity
for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They'll
tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly
good food God created to be eaten heartily and with
thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything
God created is good, and to be received with thanks.
Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God's Word
and our prayers make every item in creation holy. (1
Timothy 4:1-5 — The Message)
We have in our culture today people
and politicians telling us that there should be no benefit
to being married, that anyone living together, whether
male and female, male and male, female and female, should
be accorded the legal status and all of the legal rights
as those who make a commitment before God and others
to live according to His design.
There are self appointed “watchdog” groups
who go around telling us what we should or should not
eat or drink. They tell you don’t eat meat because
it is cruel to animals; they have elevated animals to
human status and project human qualities on them, qualities
that they do not have or posses. They are so obsessed
with their delusion that they even break laws by destroying
clothing, business and research facilities, spiking trees,
throwing blood on people wearing cloths made from animals
and they are trying to pass laws outlawing certain kinds
of fast foods, cooking oils and product. They are telling
the rest of us we are to stupid to make good choices
on our own and that these things that we eat and wear,
all of which are God given resources, are not ours to
use as God intended.
But Paul makes it clear here, and it is clear elsewhere
in the Bible, that everything was created by God and
that we were put in charge of all His creation, to have
dominion over it, to use it for our good and to use it
wisely. All things were created for our use and pleasure.
Now this does not mean that we should abuse our resources.
We should use them and take care of them in a way that
will ensure that we have them to use and enjoy in the
future.
Enjoy the things and resources that God has given us;
eat what you want, drink what you want, wear what you
want, and do so in a way that will show honor to God
and the gifts that He has given us.
Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,
