| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
Be prepared.
You're up against far more than you can handle on your
own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God
has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting
you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness,
peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn
how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your
life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the
same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare.
Pray hard and long. (Ephesians 6:13-17 — The
Message)
Why oh why do we go through our daily
lives thinking we can make it without spending time in
prayer and with God? Learning, understanding and discovering
God’s truth is essential, for our power over the
enemy is not by might, a confrontation resulting in a
power struggle. It is by knowing, embracing and speaking
the truth--the truth about God and us. That is why Paul
says, “Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation
are more than words.” They are our weapons. Our
enemy is the father of lies. His weapon against us is
lies. He lies to us about God, ourselves and others. But
he cannot stand up against the truth and we find the truth
about ourselves from God, through conversation with Him
and in His Word. We are to use the truths we find against
the enemy. The reason Paul says, “God's Word is
an indispensable weapon”, is it is full of God’s
truth about Him, you, others and life. It is the truth
of God and His Word that Jesus used every time He faced
off with the enemy.
So don’t forgo time with God. Read His Word,
speak to Him and listen to Him. You cannot make it
through this life without Him.
