| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
For though
we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world
does the weapons we fight with are not the weapons
of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power
to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and
every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge
of God, and we take captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 — New International Version)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when
the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your
ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around
your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in
place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that
comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this,
take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish
all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet
of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God. (Ephesians 6:13-17 — New International
Version)
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and
he will flee from you. (James 4:7 — New International Version)
We are continuing with the spiritual
warfare and the myths about this warfare.
Myth #4: Christians are not subject to demonic activity.
When anyone suggests the problem might lay in demonic attack the response usually
is, “Impossible. I’m/they’re a Christian.” Nothing has
done as great of damage to uncovering the source to spiritual problems as this
myth.
If believers were not subject to demonic influence then what in the world was
James talking about in chapter 4 verse 7? What is there to resist if we are not
vulnerable? What was up with Jesus saying to Peter, “Get behind me Satan”?
What about Job? Why are we told to put on the full armor of God if we are not
subject to attack? You see the Bible is full of examples and exhortations about
spiritual attack, which is the same as demonic influence. Those who would deny
the enemies’ potential and desire for destruction are the most vulnerable
to attack.
The first step to gaining victory is understanding that we have an enemy and
that we can be attacked.
Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,
