| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
For though
we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world
does the weapons we fight with are not the weapons
of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power
to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and
every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge
of God, and we take captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 — New International Version)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when
the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your
ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around
your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in
place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness
that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to
all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you
can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:13-17 — New
International Version)
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 — New
International Version)
Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful
angel of light. So it shouldn't surprise us when his
servants masquerade as servants of God. (2 Corinthians
11:14 — The Message)
Myth #5: Demonic influence is only evident
in extreme or violent behavior and gross sin.
There are those who suffer like the man in Luke, chapter
8, who is under the influence of the wild “Legion”.
But most who suffer from demonic influence lead relativity
normal lives yet experience serious personal and interpersonal
problems for which they can find no cause or solution.
Since they relegate satanic involvement only to mass murders
and such they end up always wondering what’s wrong
with them and why they can’t just do better.
As Paul says, “Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel
of light. So it shouldn't surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants
of God.” It is not the demons like Legion that are causing the church and
its member to be ineffective; it’s the subtle deceptions and intrusions
into our lives. As one professional psychotherapist put it, after attending a
conference on demonic activity in today’s world, “I had never seen
any evidence of demonism in all of my years of counseling until I can to this
conference. When I returned to my practice I discovered that two-thirds of my
clients were having problems because they were being deceived by Satan – and
so was I.” If our enemy can get us to believe that either he does not exist
or that there is only one way he manifests himself then he has us right where
he wants us – in disbelief. Be fooled no longer.
Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,
