| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
For though
we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world
does the weapons we fight with are not the weapons
of the world. (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 — New International Version)
“…you will know the truth, and the truth
will make you free." (John 8:32 — New International
Version)
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth,
and the life; no one comes to the Father but through
Me. (John 14:6 — New International Version)
"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will
guide you into all the truth.” (John 16:13 — New
International Version)
Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH
TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(Ephesians 6:14 — New American Standard Bible )
Myth # 6: Freedom from spiritual bondage
is the result of a power encounter with demonic forces.
How did Jesus deal with the temptations of the devil?
He used the truth of God’s word. We receive spiritual
freedom not as the result of some power encounter with
our enemy, but as the result of reading God’s truth,
believing God’s truth, embracing God’s truth,
and speaking God’s truth. Our enemy hides behind
lies, which is all he has. He is the father of lies and
cannot stand the truth. He has no power over you except
that which you give him. Have you ever seen someone run
from a small dog, a dog that they could easily pick up
and throw over the fence? That little dog has no real power
over them, but because they give him power through their
fear he can control them and make them go where he wants
them to go.
When God first disciplined the early church in Acts 5, He did so in a dramatic
way. What was the issue? Drugs and sex? No, the issue was truth. Ananias and
Sapphira had lied to Peter about the amount for which they had sold their land.
Peter said to them, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy
Spirit?” And they died. God wants the church to know that Satan can ruin
us if he can get us to believe a lie. He could bring down a church. If he can
get just one person on a committee or team or board member to believe a lie,
then he is in control.
Our weapon against the lie is truth. Jesus said, “You will know the truth,
and the truth will make you free.” It is speaking God’s truth into
our lives and circumstances that confronts the enemy and sends him fleeing, not
some sort of Hollywood type power struggle.
That is why it is so important to spend time with God, in His word, at His feet,
for if we do not how else will we get to know the truth? Don’t neglect
the tools that reveal the truth for they give you the very things you need to
be victorious over your enemy.
Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,
