LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running and I'm not turning back. (Philippians 3:14 — The Message)

So you may be asking yourself, if I am a believer, if I have given my life to Jesus, if He has claimed me as His, how is it that evil spirits can affect me? Good question. Look at it this way. You are on the street of a big city. You look down the street about a mile and you see your goal. There is nothing standing in your way it has been clear for you. On each side of you there are high rise buildings filed with people watching and bent on stopping you. Now understand they have no power or authority to impede your progress. But as you move towards your goal they start calling out to you, “hey, look at this. You’ll really like this, come on in.” Or they will start taunting you, “You, you’ll never make it. You don’t have what it takes. Look at where you came from. You’re only kidding yourself.” If we give into these verbal taunts and lures we will fail to reach our goal. We need to keep our eyes on the goal of Jesus. There are two examples of this. One is today’s verse and the other is the story of Peter walking on the water. Peter really did walk on water, until he took his eyes off of Jesus and started looking at the storm raging around him.

The only way the enemy can affect us is if we let him, by taking our eyes off of the goal. There is nothing he/they can do on their own.

So keep your eyes fixed on the goal; keep your eyes on Jesus. Know and listen only to the truth, the truth about God, about you and about others.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold
