| LIVING THE
SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION |
Submit yourselves,
then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you. (James 4:7 — NIV)
When we are taunted, beguiled, put down
and belittled by the barbs and fiery darts that the enemy
fires at us there are three ways we can respond and two
of them are wrong.
1 - We agree with them. “You don’t pray, read your Bible and share
you faith with others enough or like you ought to. How can God love you when
you don’t live like you should?” We buy into this and we get down
on ourselves and we may even start to question if we really are a Christian.
The truth is God’s love is unconditional. It is not based on what and how
much you do for Him.
2 – We stand in the street of our life and argue with them. They, the enemy,
tell you, you are stupid and no good, you’ll never do anything good for
God, you are just wasting your time and you tell them, “No I am not. God
loves me no matter what.” And you list all the things you have done for
God, all the ways God has used you. You are proud of yourself for not giving
in and believing their lie, but they are still controlling you. You are not moving
forward, you are not engaging others. You are standing still and having a verbal
fight with them.
The right way is to basically ignore them. When the enemy levels accusations
at you, speak the truth to yourself. If you are tempted, refute it with the truth
as Jesus did. Keep moving on; keep moving forward in your walk with Jesus. After
all, it is called a walk, not a stand. Remember, the enemy cannot get in your
way; he can only try to distract you from your goal. Keep moving—by moving
forward you are resisting the devil and he will flee from you.
Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,
