LIVING THE SOLUTION WITH DAILY INSPIRATION
I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. (2 Corinthians 7:9-10 — New International Version)

When we are confronted with our wrong choices, doings, and attitudes, what is our response? Do we feel like we are worthless, that we will never get it together, why even try any more, that we are stupid or inept? Or do we feel driven to God out of sorrow that we have disappointed Him, let Him and ourselves down by not living and being the person that He knows and wants us to be?

If, when you are confronted with your sin, you feel like the first know that is not from God. God does not see you as worthless, no good, stupid or inept. He would never have willingly sent His Son. And His Son would have never willingly given up His life for someone that was worthless. Remember, He knew you before He created the earth. That was before the fall, before you sinned. He knows your true heart is good and that you are worth rescuing and dying for. The feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy are the result of the enemy trying to tear you down.

When it is God confronting you, your response will be to draw closer to Him out of sorrow of having disappointed Him. It will cause you not only to be sorrowful, but to admit and agree with the Father that what you have done was wrong. The admitting what you did was wrong is important. God then forgives us, not just because we are sorry, for many are sorry that they got caught but they do not see that what they did was wrong. (1 John 9)

When you choose wrong this brings self condemnation and feelings of worthlessness and drives you away from the Father. The confrontation of the Father brings agreement that our choice was wrong; it drives you to the Father for forgiveness and restoration. You know that you have done was wrong, but you also know that God is just and will forgive you.

Live intentionally, purposely, free and with passion,

Pete Reinbold
