God
Between-the-Lines
by Tom Gilbert
There should be a warning issued to everyone when
they become a Christian.
WARNING: What you currently know will
radically change. You are going to learn that many of
the things you thought were most important no longer
carry much weight. Furthermore, those things you placed
little value on will suddenly become very significant.
I, for one, was not aware of this when I first accepted Christ. Then again, my
awareness of many things was limited.
My problem, the one I believe I share with virtually every human being, is self-centeredness.
We all tend to operate from this perspective. This resulted in a limited vision
of God’s ways. I failed to see God “between-the-lines”. I certainly
believed God was at work in the world, but I kept it pretty much “black
and white”. So, I interpreted my faith walk as a personal responsibility.
If it was to be it was up to me. You were in the same boat. You do your thing,
I’ll do mine (to the best of our limited abilities).

Graduation and the 268Generation
May is graduation
for many, either from high school or college. As young
people step into a life of independence their dependence
(reliance) on God is ever more crucial. We salute the
graduating classes.
Look at this gift idea from ConGRADulations
class of 2003 music that makes a difference!
The 268Generation has led seniors into a deeper faith
and more meaningful relationship with God and others.
See more here.
Consider also the impact mentoring has on these young
people. We have some special books on this featured right
now.

| WHAT'S
NEW & COMING SOON |

Have you checked out “God
FAQ”? It’s
a new area on our site for frequently asked questions
of/about God. We don’t assume to have all the
answers or to know the mind of God who can? Yet, we
believe that God does work miraculously in people’s
lives. Many people have questions about God and we
will share one in each issue of this newsletter.
The previous question was "How Do I Talk to God?" This
time we look at the flipside: “How
does God talk to me?”
We have some thoughts on this.
See it online here.

DAILY THOUGHTS & REFLECTIONS |

The
Ride of Our Lives
You need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so
you will be there for the promised completion (Hebrews
10:36, The Message version).
Some people believe that putting their
faith in me is like buying a ticket for a trip. They
use it to get to the destination called "Saved".
Then they get off the train and don't think any more
about it.
The Christian life is not an earthly destination. It's
a continuing journey with many stops along the way. God
is constantly moving us closer to Him and drawing us into
deeper levels of understanding. As long as we're alive,
we'll be changing and growing and learning new things.
So let's hang on to our ticket of faith and stay on the
train. This is the ride of our lives.
