Testimonies
of the power of prayer are as old as prayer itself. The Bible
gives many instances of answered prayer. Sometimes it is a miraculous
demonstration of God's power, such as the supernatural occurrences
surrounding the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt in the days
of Moses. Others times it's subtle. In some of Jesus' healings
he would essentially say, "don't tell anyone".
God is still very much involved in our daily lives and He is
answering our prayers constantly. We so often don't understand
the answer. The truth that escapes us is that God's answer is
always His will for us and that will is always for us to become
one with Him. It's very mystical and difficult to comprehend.
But, isn't that just what Jesus prayed? "Father, I pray
that they may be one just as you and I are one".
We all glory in hearing amazing results of prayer. When told
of miraculous healings and conversions we take strength from
these demonstrations of God's power at work in our lives. Yet,
can the slow, steady and daily growth of maturing Christians
be any less amazing? If we look back at where we came from and
where we are now many of us clearly see the hand of God in it
all.

From March 13, 2006 email to us:
Thank you for your prayers for Heart Spa! The day was amazing
from breakfast until the last worship song. We had a lady
receive Jesus for the first time, we have women rally around
each other not to mention the team that became friends. We
have are excited what God is going to do in each of us. Your
prayers are amazing and appreciated. God is so wonderful,
and the presence of the Holy Spirit continues even this day
to work on us. I thank you again and would love sit down
with each and share just how it's changed my life and my
family as God sends me on another journey! Thank you again
for standing behind me!

Often our
prayers are for a specific outcome. Many of us have discovered
that when we feel the strong presence of God that we get a
sense that "all will be well", regardless of our specific requests.
This praise report came to us from Nancy on 11/14/04.
Thank You. I did get an answer 2 weeks ago
on a Wed morning. I woke up with the overwhelming presence
of the HS (Holy Spirit)!! It was revealed to me that all my prayers were taken care of!! What
a blessing!!

Here's
another praise report we received on 6/8/04. Cindy has often
submitted prayer requests here, so it was wonderful for her
to share her good news:
I have been requesting prayer for major issues for nearly
2 years now and I just thought that it was time for some
PRAISE! My family is back at the church where our son was
hurt after 1-1/2 years. This IS a MIRACLE for me, in myself
I could have never done this. My daughter is in counseling
and making some good changes in her life. My husband and
I are starting marriage counseling soon. There is so much
more to say, so many smaller daily victories God has given.
All praise, honor and glory to him for what HE has done!!

This praise
report is from someone who has diabetes and submitted a prayer
request - The praise
report came to us 1/13/04.
Since requesting the prayer help I have
started to pray before I eat & instead of fearing everything
is bad for me I have known it is all a blessing & it seems
my body has acted as if all I have eaten has been a blessing.
I feel better & better
each day.
I love thanking everyone who has contributed to helping
my food get to me. I think about the farmers when I am ready
to eat popcorn or the animals, plants, factory workers & everyone
that is involved & it is amazing to see the gift in that.
I thank God for making it all healthy for me.
As a diabetic
I have been told even carrots can be harmful because they cause
the sugar level to rise so I really needed to become aware
that God was blessing it all instead of me focusing on the
fear the so called experts were helping me have.

Here's
another praise report we received on 12/4/03 from someone
whose son had submitted a prayer request for her healing:
My son Charles had sent a email for a prayer request
when I am in the hospital. I met with an accident on
10th of November 2003.
I thank you for your your prayer for my healing. I
have been healed completely from the accident with
head injury by the Grace of Almighty God and your
prayers. I have also resumed office from 1st December
2003. This is all because of your prayers and God's
miracle I am healed.
I take this opportunity to thank you and your prayer
warriors for your constant prayer.
Please continue praying for me and my family.

Here's
a praise report we received on 10/29/03 from someone who
had submitted a prayer request:
This is not a prayer request but a thank
you to all prayed for my family and me that would deal with
the cancer in my body.
God is so good and He is a God that still heals today. I received
my results yesterday and the cancer is no more (praise God)
thank
you so much again and may God bless you in your ministry.

Here's
a praise report we received on 10/24/03 from someone who
had submitted a prayer request:
I requested prayer for my brother Jeffrey who had been gone
since Sunday. He returned home late yesterday afternoon. He had been
robbed and almost killed but begged for his life. It's only because
of prayer that he was spared. He is now willing to turn from drugs.
Please continue to pray for his recovery. Praise be the our Lord for
answered prayer. Thanks so much for all your prayers and this avenue of
help and hope.

Not long ago I had a request for my brother Barry, He had
cancer in his leg. since then he has had surgery and they
removed all of the cancer..We give God all the praise and Glory!

Prayer at Kansas Legislature
This one has been making the rounds
of email and web sites. A little research confirms it is essentially
true, although
snopes.com claims
the prayer was delivered before the Kansas House of Representatives
(not the Kansas Senate, as claimed
in the text). Although the occasion was back in January, 1996,
the wording of the prayer is quite interesting and would no
doubt draw praise and criticism today if someone was bold enough
to do it.
What follows is the version you'll generally find. Afterwards
there is a link to the Snopes site (they investigate stories
like this and try to determine the authenticity).
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your
forgiveness and to seek direction and guidance. We know your
word says "Woe to those who call evil good", but
that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual
equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that:
We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word, and called
it Pluralism;
We have worshipped other gods, and called it multiculturalism;
We have endorsed perversion, and called it alternative lifestyle;
We have exploited the poor, and called it the lottery;
We have rewarded laziness, and called it Welfare;
We have killed our unborn' and called it choice;
We have shot abortionists, and called it justifiable;
We have neglected to discipline our children, and called it
building self esteem;
We have abused power, and called it politics;
We have coveted our neighbors’ possessions, and called
it ambition;
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography, and
called it freedom of expression;
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers,
and called it enlightenment;
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from
every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women
who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will
to open ask it in the name of Your Son, the Living Savior Jesus
Christ. Amen."

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked
out during the prayer in protest. In six short weeks the Central
Christian Church, where the Rev. Wright is Pastor, logged more
than 5000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding
negatively. The church is now receiving international requests
for copies of this prayer, from India, Africa, and Korea.
Reportedly, commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on "The
Rest Of The Story" on the radio and received a larger
response to this program than to any other he has ever aired.
